A word that is invented by combining the beginning of one word and the end of another while keeping the meaning of each.

A project predicated on word play using combined images to create a new image, sometimes with more complex meaning, often with a good dose of humour and whimsy.

The Canadian artists Stan Douglas and Douglas Coupland were the original inspiration for ‘Portmanteaus’.
